How to Work Weight Loss Calculator?

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR):

The formula for calculating BMR varies slightly for men and women:
For men:
BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm)− 5 × age(years) + 5
For women:

This formula is based on the Harris-Benedict equation and takes into account weight, height, age, and gender.

Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE):

TDEE is an estimation of the total number of calories your body needs in a day, taking into account your activity level on top of your BMR.
It is calculated by multiplying the BMR by a factor that represents your activity level.
The activity level factors used in the code are:
Sedentary (little to no exercise): 1.2
Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days a week): 1.375
Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days a week): 1.55
Very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): 1.725
Extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job): 1.9

TDEE = BMR * activity
